Keys and prices
What is a key?
A key is a tradable token linked to a profile. Holding one gives you access to that profile's private room. Its price changes as people buy and sell.
Prices follow a bonding curve, a formula recorded in the contract:
- The profile owner can buy the first key for 0 ETH.
- Each later key costs more as supply grows.
- Buying increases the next price.
- Selling decreases the next price.
The current quote is shown on each profile before you trade.
Why buy a key?
- Support. Buying a key creates demand for a profile's market.
- Access. Holding a key unlocks the profile's private room.
- Price exposure. Your key may become more valuable if demand rises. It may lose value if holders sell.
Price and fees
Every trade includes a total fee of 10% based on the curve price:
- The curve price determines the market value of the key.
- The profile owner receives a 5% subject fee.
- Sync World receives a 5% protocol fee.
On a sale, the seller receives the curve value minus both fees.
Trade behavior
- You can sell while you hold a key and the market has enough supply.
- The owner's first key remains in the market, so supply cannot fall below one.
- The confirmation dialog uses a live quote. If the market changes before confirmation, the transaction fails instead of accepting a different amount.
- A sell transaction does not accept attached ETH.
